John D. Valiante has been a proven leader in healthcare management for over 35 years. Previously, he founded, developed and led Physicians Care, a managed care joint venture with northern Virginia’s INOVA Health System and 1,600 physicians. Subsequently, he successfully led the financial turnaround and expansion of St. John’s Medical Center, a regional health system in Jackson, Wyoming. Later, working with the National Football League (NFL) and the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), he developed the Sports Medicine Research and Testing Laboratory (SMRTL) into an internationally-respected, WADA-certified testing and research laboratory. Most recently, John led Southwestern Eye Center, a large Arizona medical group practice, in developing a multi-state expansion. Through consolidation of its practice management and EMR systems, expansion of its bank credit facilities and strengthening its leadership team, John established a foundation for SWEye’s future growth and profitability.
As a consultant, John brings his team of experts to focus on clients’ opportunities for growth and higher value. From his experience, John believes that speed of execution has become just as important as strategy in healthcare organizations’ success. With this in mind, he works closely with clients to create:

John and his team work on a project basis where clients have specific tasks to be accomplished. He also works on an interim leadership basis where the management challenges are more substantial.
John has a B.S. in Engineering from Yale and an M.B.A. in Finance from Stanford. He is an Executive Advisor to private equity firm Gryphon Investors (CA) and investment banker City Capital Advisors (IL). John is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
Reflecting John’s strong interests in sports and music, John established and oversees Center Management Inc. (CMI), the non-profit operator of the Snow King Sports and Events Center in Jackson, WY. CMI turned around the operation of this ice rink and conference/event center to the substantial benefit of community skaters and music fans.
